Cat and Mouse

So it's Christmas Eve, and we are on our way to visit friends when we go to turn a corner and see a cat. He's chasing a mouse, and said mouse decides to cross the street. The cat follows, and between us and the car coming toward us (we're turning left, they're turning right) it looks like the cat is herding the mouse across the road between us. It was interesting when the cat noticed the danger and ran past the mouse onto the sidewalk, then the mouse is running in circles trying to figure out which is worse, frying pan or fire. He ran right to the cat.

I was reminded of that Christmas legend where the animals can all talk at midnight on Christmas Eve. Maybe they were on their way to their own celebration? Everyone bring a snack!
